My Three Greatest Minecraft Builds

These are my three greatest Minecraft builds so far.

I posted each image twice, once using my own resource pack and once using the default look of Minecraft. Just look at what you like better :)

This collection is also available as an imgur album.

The Cathedral

Inside

I’ve used glow stone for lighting and build a big cross behind the altar.

Menger Sponge

This is a level 3 menger sponge. It is not terribly big, but I build it in survival mode to get rid of the tons of cobble stone I had left over (also falling from the top is not very pleasant). I think it looks cool.

Mob Trap

The Castle

This looks like a not-very-harmful and small-ish castle, but it is only the tip of the iceberg.

The Inside

Directly below the castle is a really big mob trap!

The image in the top left shows one spawn layer and it is of course very dark. These layers are 64 by 64 blocks big and have diagonal walls. My trap has 5 of those layers!

The image in the top right shows the ‘waiting room’. It has some benches for visitors and the mobs wait here as well. Once you switch the lever in the back, the blocks below them are moved away by pistons and they fall to their death…

The image in the bottom left shows the trap. Once the mobs fall down, the water pushes them into the lava where they die.

The image in the bottom right shows the looting place. Just stand there, enjoy the show and grab the loot!

I uploaded these images in full resolution below.

Thanks for looking! I hope you like my builds and my presentation of them.

Additional Information

Plans for the Cathedral

I used Google SketchUp to design the cathedral and the mob trap.

Here you can see a screenshot showing the dimensions of the cathedral.

Also notice that the walls are 3 blocks thick, enough room for secret passages inside of them. You can access them using doors beside the front entrance and behind the altar.

Plans for the Mob Trap

This is the five layer setup for the mob trap. As you can see the layers have diagonal walls. In this view the front half of the model is invisible, so you can see better.

In the deeper parts, water pushes the mobs to the center.

On the platforms in the middle there are four glass towers, which contain ladders so you can climb down to the trap. The middle layer contains connections between the four towers.

The Lava Trap

The trap itself. Once the mobs fall down, the water pushes them into the lava where they die.
